YA Fantasy stories you can get lost in

I’m a YA Fantasy author of stories that take you on an epic journey and still bring a smile to your face. Growing up as the only homeschooled kid in church, I know what it’s like to be the “little guy” who doesn’t feel seen. I write tales of heroes who wouldn’t be the first ones picked, choose to fight for good and true in the end, and go deeper than their “swash-buckling, dagger-stabbing” qualities.
There are too many depressing books with copy-and-paste worlds as it is. I’m on a journey to share stories that bring you on a wild ride with its world, warm your heart with its characters, and leave you feeling more encouraged.
Will you join me on this quest for stories sprinkled with joy and light?
You skim your fingers along the spines of countless books on library and bookstore shelves, hoping with each new title you’ll discover a new world to explore and characters to escape reality with. You find one that seems interesting and pick it up, but then put it back with a sigh because you can guess the ending just from reading the blurb. Far too many times, you’ve been met with disappointment in your quest to find new stories to enjoy.
The popular books hyped up on social media contain sexual content you’re uncomfortable with—smut in the form of clickbait. The lesser-known books are incredibly hit or miss on whether they’re just a copy-and-paste version of what’s been done a million times. And the interesting stories you do manage to find, they feel bogged down by characters whose only personality trait is their trauma—or they’re led by the same 5 foot, blade-throwing stubborn characters. You’re tired of picking up a new book only to have to set it down because it’s the same old plot, same old story setting from what was trending last year. You’re finally ready for something new.
You shouldn’t settle for a story that leaves you dissatisfied—and you don’t have to.
With my stories, you can:

Then you’ve come to the right place!

Allie Jo Andersen grew up believing she was secretly a fairy. Ever since the disappointment of her humanity set in, she’s been weaving YA tales of fantasy that you can get lost in featuring characters with emotional depth. If she’s not coming up with new worlds to explore, she’s probably listening to her newest favorite podcast or audiobook, wrangling a rabbit or chicken in the backyard with one of her siblings, or plotting victory in the latest family game.
